Based in London, UK, I am a professional photographer and frequently travel worldwide on assignment for editorial, expedition and corporate projects for magazine clients and campaigning organisations. With 15 years of industry experience, I am as keen to produce quality images now as I was when starting out as a news photographer for Reuters News Pictures. I love diversity and challenge and enjoy shooting an equal balance of reportage and portraiture work. Demanding and complex global projects are as welcome as quick portrait shoots to a tight deadline.

I am represented by my agents Polaris (USA) Eyevine (UK), Visum Images (Germany), Agence Rea (France), Contactophoto (Spain), INA Photo Agency (Scandinavia), ISIFA (Czech & Slovak Republics), Alamy for worldwide stock and also run my own archive powered by PhotoShelter.

My pictures have appeared in some the world's leading publications such as Geo, National Geographic Books, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, The New York Times, Der Spiegel, FOCUS Magazine, FACTS Magazine, The Guardian, The Sunday Telegraph and The Times as well as in a variety of corporate magazines, reports and websites. In recent years I have also undertaken extensive assignments on global environmental issues for organisations such as Greenpeace and the World Wildlife Fund.

How did all this happen you might ask?

Many moons ago, I developed a passion for photography whilst working as a teacher trainer in a rural education project for an NGO in Bangladesh. I stayed for nearly two years and learned to quietly document the daily lives of ordinary people. Whilst I was learning about the magic a camera can produce, I joined a collective of romantic photojournalists called MAP based in Dhaka, Bangladesh and started taking on assignments for NGOs and related publications.

Since, I have graduated from the University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) with a double BA degree in Modern Third World History and Development Studies/Human Rights.

I speak fluent German, English, French, Bengali and my native Czech.
In recent years, I have trained in IRATA rope access climbing, scuba diving and have plans to pass my helicopter private pilot licence test in the near future.

In life outside of photography, I divide my time between London and a small farmhouse in the Czech Republic and enjoy motorcycling, cooking and sports.
